The Cafe Across from Wicks Park

This morning before my extremely long, extremely boring 10 hour shift at work, we headed out to grab a “quickish” feed from Wicks Park Cafe.

After being here a few times before and remembering it to be pretty darn delicious, this morning wasn’t as great as I remembered!

The coffees are always amazing and this morning I decided to treat myself a mango smoothie.

The drinks were delicious, I loved the coffee and the mango smoothie is a favourite of mine, the food though – really average, maybe even a little below. I ordered the breakfast bagette that came with chorizo, hash brown, tomato relish on an open baguette and Daniel ordered himself the Eggs Benedict (his usual). This time visiting Wicks Park was really unrated.

One or two bites in, I found a piece of plastic mixed in with the relish. As soon as I bit down on this being really hard, as you would expect turned me completely.

Daniels Eggs Benny, came out on an extremely large plate which made the overall meal lack in presentation. Overall this time round, Wicks Park Cafe failed to deliver, both myself and Daniel said that Wicks is a ‘go to’ to grab a take away coffee as the coffee was delicious. I think we’ll have to give it another go I guess, fingers crossed next time I love it the way I did before this mornings visit.
